Grants for converting private boats to electric power on the Norfolk Broads

Electric boats are almost silent, without smell or vibration, and don’t leave diesel fuel in the water. They do not intrude into the sensitive environment of the Broads, a unique area of waterways and lakes which are a haven for wild birds and for people seeking tranquillity. Nor do they disturb the thousands who enjoy peaceful activities such as sailing, rowing, canoeing, fishing and bird-watching.

Despite their clear advantages, there are very few electric boats on the Broads. Now, grants supported by funding from the EU, UK government and local councils, offer a financial incentive to private owners who want to convert and experience the pleasures of electric boating for themselves.
